Corporate Connections - Obama and Senior Advisor David Axelrod »

With Barack Obama claiming the trophy of change, I wonder how much will change having the Seinor Advisor with what may be the most corporate connections in history.

And with the FCC, Fairness Doctrine, Net Neutrality all looming, how will Axelrod and his ties to companies such as AT&T, Cablevision and ComEd affect the Obama administration and it’s policies on energy and communication?

The Secret Side of David Axelrod - BusinessWeek

Axelrod operates a second business, ASK Public Strategies, that discreetly plots strategy and advertising campaigns for corporate clients to tilt public opinion their way. He and his partners consider virtually everything about ASK to be top secret, from its client roster and revenue to even the number of its employees. But customers and public records confirm that it has quarterbacked campaigns for the Chicago Children’s Museum, ComEd, Cablevision, and AT&T.

Obama-Biden Transition Team announces more White House staff - Change.gov

David Axelrod served as President-elect Obama’s Chief Strategist during the presidential campaign, and led Obama’s 2004 Senate campaign. A native of New York City, Axelrod graduated from the University of Chicago and spent eight years as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, where he covered national, state, and local politics and became the youngest political writer and columnist in the paper’s history. Leaving journalism in 1984, Axelrod managed Paul Simon’s upset victory over incumbent U.S. Senator Charles Percy of Illinois. In 1985, he founded Axelrod & Associates, a political consulting firm known today as AKP&D Message and Media. Axelrod has worked for leading Democrats across the country, including Senators Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, and Herb Kohl, as well as Governor Tom Vilsack of Iowa, Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, Congressman Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, and Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago, along with mayors of big cities across the country. He is married to Susan Axelrod, president and founder of Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE). They have three grown children.

Axelrod’s Other Job | NBC Chicago

“Mr. Axelrod’s corporate work has remained largely obscured - his clients’ names were removed from his firm’s Web site several years ago, part of a series of revisions that minimized details of that side of his business,” the Times found.

“The identities of some of his past clients appeared in the press over the last year, including AT&T, Cablevision and the University of Chicago Medical Center. A fuller picture emerges from a review of public records, including an archived version of his Web site that contains an early list of companies and organizations his firm has worked with.

A press release announcing the appointment did not indicate whether he will dispose of his interest in his consulting firm, AKP&D Message and Media.

Campaign Pledge on Ethics Could Become Obstacle to Filling White House Jobs - NYTimes.com

David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s top campaign strategist and another likely candidate for a White House job, is not a lobbyist either. But he is a partner in a public advocacy group that has helped corporate clients including the telecommunications companies AT&T, Cablevision and SBC Communications; Household Financial, a subprime mortgage lender; Wisconsin Energy, a coal-fired power company; the nuclear power giant Exelon; and a coalition that pushes deregulation of the electricity markets.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Associated Press on Friday suspended the use of photos provided by the Defense Department after the Army distributed a digitally altered photo of the U.S. military’s first female four-star general.

The image of Army Gen. Ann E. Dunwoody is the second Army-provided photo the AP has eliminated from its service in the last two months.

The AP said that adjusting photos and other imagery, even for aesthetic reasons, damages the credibility of the information distributed by the military to news organizations and the public.

“For us, there’s a zero-tolerance policy of adding or subtracting actual content from an image,” said Santiago Lyon, the AP’s director of photography.

Obama Palin Fey Reveal Oprah and Her Priorities »

I have no problem with Oprah Winfrey going all out and in for Barack Obama but having Tina Fey on her show without even extending an invitation to Governor Sarah Palin shows how little Oprah Winfrey really cares about women in power when they don’t subscribe to the same political ideals.

Sun Times

Appearing via satellite on today’s “The Oprah Winfrey” show, comedian actress Tina Fey said she’s “packing up her wig” and retiring her portrayal of Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

“I’m going to retire. … I am really happy I did it,” Fey said. “It was this wonderful chance to go home again and be with my friends at ‘Saturday Night Live.’”

Fey, who crossed paths with Palin when she appeared on the show last month, said Palin was a good sport about the impersonation.

Fey appeared today on Winfrey’s show — the same day the talk show host will make her debut on the popular NBC hit “30 Rock,” which stars Fey.

Oprah says Palin can call her after the election?

She says she isn’t opposed to having Palin on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in the future, though.

“If she wants to talk to me after tomorrow I will be happy to talk to her.”

Winfrey says it’s been “hard to keep my mouth shut on the show,” where politics is concerned, but adds, “I’m unleashed tomorrow.”

For now, Oprah, who voted last week in Chicago, says her eye is on the prize for the Illinois State Senator to take the Presidency and she has a dress ready for his inauguration.

Obama video delayed; Oprah to debut

A new will.i.am video celebrating Barack Obama’s win has been delayed, and now will be debuted on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Friday.

The Black Eyed Peas leader had said “It’s A New Day” would debut on dipdive.com Wednesday, the day after Obama was elected. Will.i.am’s publicist now says the Chicago-based show will debut the clip, with other celebrities on hand.

Alaska - Governor Palin CLEARED in Troopergate! »

The investigation concluded there was no “probable cause” that Palin violated the state’s executive ethics act in dismissing Walt Monegan as public safety commissioner.

Update: Video Added

Palin cleared by Alaska panel in ethics probe | Reuters

Alaska Gov. and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was cleared on Monday of wrongdoing in an abuse-of-power investigation into the firing of the state’s public safety commissioner.

The Alaska Personnel Board report, issued on the eve of the U.S. presidential election, ran contrary to findings from a legislative inquiry that concluded in October that Palin had abused the power of her office by pressuring subordinates to fire a state trooper involved in a feud with her family.

UPDATE on article | Adds quotes from Palin lawyer, investigator, background

New Troopergate report clears Palin: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

A new report, released just hours before the polls open on Election Day, exonerates Gov. Sarah Palin in the “Troopergate” controversy. The state Personnel Board-sanctioned investigation is the second into whether Palin violated state ethics law in firing her public safety commissioner earlier this year, and it contradicts the earlier findings by a special counsel hired by the state Legislature.

Hack Josh Marshall and his Talking Ponts Memo outright lies about the investigation and agency clearing Gov. Palin:

TPM LIE:

Talking Points Memo - Trooper-Gate Report Initiated By Palin Clears Her Of Wrong-Doing

Of course, this was an investigation that Palin herself initiated, by filing an ethics complaint against herself. The three members of the Personnel Board are appointed by Palin, and she cooperated with the investigation.

FACT:

The board is set up as follows:

The board is set up in state law as an independent agency to hear
complaints of violations of state ethics law brought against executive
branch employees. Members are appointed by the governor, though Palin
only had a role in appointing one of the three members.

TPM is outright lying, nothing new.

I’m sure the smearing left and nutroots like Talking Points Memo, Josh Marshall, Think Progress, DailyKos, Firedoglake…..and the rest of them will be posting on Sarah Palin’s exoneration any moment now. NOT!

Oh, and this from the same AP that erroneously claimed Palin “violated the law”;

News from The Associated Press

Gov. Sarah Palin violated no ethics laws when she fired her public safety commissioner, the state personnel board concluded in a report released Monday. “There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters,” the report says.

Obama, Aunti Zeituni, Joe The Plumber and The Phony Left »

A textbook example of the transparent, law breaking, deceptive, crocodile tear shedding democrats and left.

Private American citizen Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. Joe The Plumber, versus Barack Obama’s Aunt Zeituni Onyango an illegal alien who Obama claims he didn’t know was in Boston?

News From The Associated Press

The government is investigating whether any laws were broken involving details about the disclosure that Barack Obama’s aunt was living in the country illegally.

The Associated Press learned late Friday learned that Obama’s half aunt, who is from Kenya, was ordered to leave the United States years ago after an immigration judge denied her request for asylum.

The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama’s late father.

Ohio.com - Plumbergate has governor in hot water

Like former President Richard Nixon, Gov. Ted Strickland has a plumber problem.

Specifically, ”Joe the Plumber,” aka Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher.

Wurzelbacher is the ubiquitous everyman from the Toledo area who confronted Democrat Barack Obama, linked arms with Republican John McCain and in the process, spurred inquisitive minds in state government to start snooping around in his files.

And if Strickland is not careful, his plumber problem could undermine everything he wants to do in the remaining two years of his term.

Yes, it is that serious.

Michelle Malkin » Conyers calls for investigation into Aunti Zeituni info leak; Joe the Plumber still on his own

I predicted the totally predictable last night. And so it has come to pass: The left-wing fairweather friends of privacy are all over the leak of Aunti Zeituni’s immigration info — while Joe The Plumber remains persona non grata. Democrat Rep. John Conyers has already called for a federal investigation. The WaPo is already up with an A-section story on the anonymous leak. And the liberal blogs are up in arms.

American Thinker Blog: Conyers calls for investigation into leak of info about Obama’s aunt

Well, now John Conyers, rushing to protect the privacy of an American citizen, has called for an investigation into the leak of Auntie Zeituni’s immigration status:

Comedian David Axelrod

David Axelrod said people are suspicious about stories that surface so close to an election.

I wonder where the articles are from the MSM, nutroots and Democrats calling for an investigation into Joe The Plumbers privacy being violated when State worker checked child support records of ‘Joe the Plumber’

Records showed that several other state agency computers were used to search for personal information on Wurzelbacher just after the debate. Ohio’s inspector general is investigating whether the checks were conducted legally.
