The left is quite comfortable when it comes to displaying their complete ignorance regarding the Middle East including Iran and Al-Qaeda.
Are the nutroots really this stupid or do they assume their readers are?
Drowning in stupidity at Firedoglake and of course the Atrihole drinks from the lake of ignorance as well.
Does it bother anyone else that these people are making foreign policy decisions when they are clearly ignorant? This is from KFQD with conservative talk show host Dan Fagan:
We expect Al Qaeda to come out some time today with a new manifesto where they ought to be using weapons of mass destruction against the United States. That means that they’re realizing they can’t win in Iraq. I think they’re going to change their way of doing business. And I think we have to be on the alert. These people are all over the world. Al Qaeda’s not just in Iraq. They’re in Iran. They’re in the Philippines. Sen Inouye and I went down to [indistinguishable]. They’re over in Indonesia. They’re all over.
Ok Ted. Can we got over this one more time. There are Sunnis (Al Qaeda) and Shiites (Iran). They are at war in Iraq, as well as much of the rest of the Middle East and Far East. Think Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland. I know it probably helps you to imagine Christianity and white people.
The left loves to quote from the 9/11 commission when it suits their position of surrender and appeasement but turn their heads when it tells of Iran / Al Qaeda ties.
9/11 Commission Finds Ties Between al-Qaeda and Iran - TIME
Next week’s much anticipated final report by a bipartisan commission on the origins of the 9/11 attacks will contain new evidence of contacts between al-Qaeda and Iran—just weeks after the Administration has come under fire for overstating its claims of contacts between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

. . with the government of Iran and its associated terrorist group Hezbollah for the purpose of working together against their perceived common enemies in the West, particularly the United States.
Even the a light skimming of news on Iran and Al Qaeda turns up the connections between the two.
The fact that the left can’t understand how adversaries form unfriendly alliances at times to focus on a common foe is testimony to their utter incompetence when it comes to national security issues.

Barack Obama’s statement that Iran is not a serious threat shows his complete lack of any undertanding of what a threat is.
The reason Iran is not a serious threat according to Obam is that Iran is a “tiny country”..
WOW….! Barack Obama blows the doors off the science of nuclear physics and reveals that a country’s land mass an/or population size directly affects the output / yield produced by a nuclear weapon deployed by that nation.

Here is hero of the Nutroots Glenn Greenwald getting his facts wrong as usual.
Greenwals is trying to blow spitballs at Tom Freidman’s Iran assessment but barely gets two paragraphs into his ditribe before going completely off the rails.
Tom Friedman’s latest declaration of war - Glenn Greenwald - Salon.com
“it’s a country whose defense spending is less than 1% of our own, has never invaded another country, and could not possibly threaten us”
Iran “never invaded another country”….? Really Glenn?
It took one of Greenwald’s more astute commenters to correct Greenwald’s fact out of the ass-ery.
Iran has never invaded another country?
This just goes to show the short memory of your average liberal. Iran invaded Greece not once, but twice in the 5th century BC. In fact, Iran (sure, it was called Persia then) was a scourge in the eastern Mediterranean. My god, they even invaded India! Iran has invaded most of its neighbors at some point in the past 2500 years. This is the truth Glenn Greenwald doesn’t want you to know.
I wonder if Glenn Greenwald remembers 9-11 when a group of Saudis killed 2,974 Americans, he must not if he believes Iran “could not possibly threaten us”. Greenwald doesn’t say Iran poses little or even very little threat, he says Iran “could not possibly threaten us “.
This is the danger and delusion of the liberal / progressive foreign policy mindset.

Obama adviser Larry Lessig Laughs while showing video of Jesus getting hit by a bus.
Watch the video and listen how Obama advisor Larry Lessig says “I don’t get it” when referring to why people wouild be offended by a video showing Jesus Christ getting his by a bus.
Funny Lessig and Google seem to “get it” when it comes to removing Pro Life and videos exposing Radical Islam as Red State points out;
Now, this is important for a number of reasons beyond another connection to Obama by someone denigrating the Christian religion.
Google has never been a Christian friendly organization. It censored a pro-life video from YouTube posted by the American Life League.
The Christian Institute in the UK sued Google for anti-Christian discrimination after Google refused to allow the organization to advertise through Google.
Naturally though, Google censored content offensive to muslims going so far as to remove videos that Islamists found blasphemous..
Oh, and we can’t forget Google banned Michele Malkin for showing the Mohammed Cartoons from Denmark.

Does anybody on the left side of the web even bother read the articles they circle jerk blog over?
Think progress gets the ball rolling yeserdary by echoing and twisting the false AP headline:
Secretary of State Rice Mocks Muslim Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr as a Coward
Now Firedoglake jumps on the Nutroot headline morphing express claiming Condoleezza Rice called Muqtada al-Sadr a coward. Notice the cute little headline.
Firedoglake - Did Rice Just Provoke a Little War for McCain?
The Bush Administration has denied for years that we are bogged down in an Iraqi civil war, but now there is no doubt we’re not only in the middle of a Shia-on-Shia war but carelessly inflaming it in ways that could easily benefit Iran. The last thing this explosive situation needs is more gasoline from Secretary of War Rice, who went out of her way to taunt al-Sadr by calling him a coward.
Vet Voice gets it wrong as well.
McClatchy fabricates facts too.

Problem is she said no such thing, here is what Condoleezza Rice actually said:
“I know he’s sitting in Iran,” Rice said dismissively, when asked about al-Sadr’s latest threat to lift a self-imposed cease-fire with government and U.S. forces. “I guess it’s all-out war for anybody but him,” Rice said. “I guess that’s the message; his followers can go too their deaths and he’s in Iran.“
The Washington Times, (as seen in above screen-shot) seems to have gotten a little closer to the true content of Rice’s remarks.

The left is gleeful thinking they found John McCain uttering a huge gaff which to them of course means that his Presidential aspirations are over. As usual the left is wrong but that doesn’t stop the Nutroots like Think Progress and MYDD.
Redstate points to a good writeup in the Weekly Standard that shows just how ignorant the left is when it comes to the Middle East and the War on Terrorism.
The Weekly Standard
Some bloggers are jumping all over Senator John McCain for his supposed “gaffe” today. According to The Trail, a blog over at the Washington Post, McCain said that Iranian operatives were “taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back.”
——–
But McCain was right the first time. He shouldn’t have taken his statement back. And it’s the bloggers who are ignorant–not John McCain.
